System Recover drive visible after SUR40 factory restore

I recently face to a strange situation after recovering my Microsoft Surface SUR40 unit. It happen so that suddenly the system recovering drive was visible from myComputer and gets a drive letter assign to it. I have found that it was messing up somehow with other USB device which was plug during that process.

In an other hand Diskpart was really showing the status of the volume partition as Hidden as you can see below:

In order to get this Recovery partition hidden again, there is no other way to use the Diskpart tool and process as follow:

–       Go to Start–>Run or use Windows+R key and type: diskpart

–       Type list volume and enter. Now Command Prompt lists your partitions.

–       From your list note the volume number of the recovering partition

–       From prompt type select volume<your recovering volume number> in order to set the partition as current

–       Remove the associated drive letter by typing remove letter <drive letter associated to it>

–       Type exit

Your recovery partition is hidden again and not visible from Windows explorer.

Hope it will help you as well
